ABOUT

Creator since creation, till death do us part.

My name is David R. Olsson, and I’m a video editor and motion designer based in Falls Church, Virginia. I’ve been professionally producing video content since 2015 when the award-winning Frederator Networks, Inc. hired me to write for their Cinematica entertainment channel. My work generated millions of views and led to a long-standing relationship with the client, which has included over a hundred scripts as well as editing and animation work.

Since earning my B.S. in Television & Business in 2016, I’ve been working with marketing agencies and post-production houses to create videos for Fortune 500 businesses, digital entertainment platforms, and even AMC Networks, Inc. Throughout my three years as an editor and motion designer at Platinum Platypus, Inc., I produced commercials and testimonials for an array of diverse clients, whether it be a hype reel about the latest automation technology from Jabil Inc. or a playful spot for Teachers Federal Credit Union.

Working alongside seasoned scriptwriters enhanced my ability to deliver a message using all facets of production, and I carried that knowledge with me when Little Monster Media hired me to write digital videos for The Walking Dead franchise via AMC Networks, Inc. Thanks to my experience as an editor, I could optimize my scripts for the screen, heightening the quality, improving the collaboration process, and leading to analytically and creatively stronger videos.

I approach each project with not only humor and passion, but with consideration to the brand, their audience, and their objectives. I see all my work with a creative eye — TWO, even — backed by a pragmatic and snappy marketing mind. I know how to deliver a product with an angle that lets it breathe and an execution that lets it bite. My employers and coworkers have commended my dedicated work ethic, approachable personality, proactive spirit, and a unique sense of style evident in all of my projects. They also like my hair.

Now here are the absolute worst things about me: I love 80's pop music and Netflix Christmas movies. I laugh at my own jokes. I'm cold most of the time. I have a monthly wine box subscription that I use as a personality trait. I'm glad we got that part out of the way. That was hard.

Thank you for your time and interest, and I hope to speak with you soon!
